Bacon wrapped hotdogs and regular hamburgers not wrapped in bacon, mmmm..

IMG_7744

Beeeer mmmmmm.. beer bubbles! I bought this Belgian beer because it had an orange segment sporting a sweet mohawk on the front. Im a sucker for a mohawk.

I got this awesome sweet apron in the mail from CB’s mom! The print is awesome. Mermaids!

IMG_7749

Booby panels! WEEE! It came with a hat that said “frumpy dumpling” on it. Kind of my mantra, ya know? Gotta keep it real.

IMG_7751

CB’s said The Codfather! And had whales and stuff on his! We thought it said The Cod Eater and were like.. what.. true but, strange to embroider on a hat.. THANKS ARLENE!

This place is lousy with icebergs and I went out for a wee walk to try to get a picture of them but I couldnt get close enough. Even though they are the size of a house..

You can tell a lot about a place in its litter. Baby toy lion.. tea bag.. package of Fishermans friend lozenges.. diet root beer.. and half a million Molson Canadian and Coors lite bottles.

IMG_7770

Vroom vroom. I though this would look way more artistic then it does.

IMG_7773

A view of Barr’d islands. They are bumpy! One of my favourite spots here.

IMG_7774

Looking down at some docks. There seems to be the old foundation of a house with a 1950’s stove sitting on it.

IMG_7775 IMG_7781

Looking for seals, all I see is seagulls. Cool lobster trap though!

IMG_7782

Any seals any seals any seals? Nope..

IMG_7783

I stopped here for a while and looking over the water.

IMG_7784

Obviously in someone elses favourite sittin and sippin’ spot.

IMG_7786

You cant tell from here but that metal round thing there is like a GIANT cog the size of my butt.

IMG_7795

I tried to take a video of this but it was too bright. The ice was melting and making cute drips into the sea. It was a nice sound.

IMG_7798

Someday this will be sea glass in somebodys collection.

Today its just potential tetanus for me.

IMG_7806

Seagull! What are you doing up there, you majestic beast, you! Aint gonna find no french fries in the sky my friend, better come down here.

IMG_7812

And my reward for taking a walk. FINDING PUSSY WILLOWS! I have a strong affinity for this plant. They used to grow around my house and I would keep the little furry buds in my pocket and pet them. Its a nice plant.

Soft and silvery paws.IMG_7824

This is a rock in our yard, mysteriously tied up like a present. Why anyone would want to wrap a rope around a giant rock like a bow, is beyond me.. Mystery!

  1. What a magical yet isolated spot you live in. It looks very brisk.

I wonder about the rock tied up with rope. Perhaps it was once a magician doing a vanishing act and instead of transporting himself backstage, he transported himself to your yard and turned himself into a rock and he has been stuck there ever since, long forgotten. Perhaps giving him a cape and a top hat will stir his soul? Please let me know how you get on.

    1. Why would present me with such a creepy hypothesis right before bed!? Now Im going to lay awake all night imagining that rock is some tortured young magician waiting to be awakened by his soul mate?! Who is maybe a seal, who is a seal by day and a chubby lady who roams the beaches at night like some kind of newfie swan lake kind of thing… oh no.. oh no…

  2. Hi Kara! have you met any Wallace’s out there – I’m probably related to them. Besides the garbage, it looks so beautiful!

    1. BERT!!! Its so nice to see your face pop up on me ol’ blog! I see you have one too? IM GONNA READ IT! I havent met any wallace’s here yet, I think it’s mostly just Pentons and Deckers are the 2 main family names here.. very very small island. If I meet a wallace I’ll ask them about you! I love Newfoundland, its.. probably the best place on the planet I think. Where are you now?
